Unhappy I'd been raw for about a week, about 10 pounds lighter, INFINITELY happier and now...

It's all back. The weight; my bleak outlook on life. I'd been on vacation when I started raw, and it was so easy for me to maintain my raw foodism then. I'm in a situation where I absolutely HATE my high school/the people I am often around (excluding my family), and am in the process of treating depression. Now that I'm back at school everyday, I've just been inhaling bagels, chips, and cheese, just for something to keep my mind off of how much I loathe my situation.

PLEASE, any tips on how to beat emotional hindrances? I've been so messed up for the last few year (depression, eating disorders, suicidal impulses) and raw was just helping me get past that. It's so important to me that I stick this out.

I just...please. I need help with this.

I would say to eat raw versions of all the items that you enjoy cooked. And to find raw items that fill that same craving.

I tend to like salty/sweet combos. So, I soak some nuts and then dehydrate them with a little sea salt...then drizzle with agave. Hits the spot.

Or raw brownies...equal parts raw chocolate/walnuts/dates. Blend completely in food processor and press into a pan. Refrigerate and cut into squares.

Also, try to find some place in your current situation to exercise...go for a walk. Get your endorphins going. That will boost your mood as well as help remove some excess weight.

Lastly...go easy on yourself. Life was meant to be enjoyed. Enjoy, relax, eat raw and exercise. (((HUGS)))

Honey, FOOD is NOT your problem. But you know that, don't you? *hug*

I recommend getting a copy of the book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hays.

Coming from a past with a long record of suicidal tendencies, depression, Bipolar, anorexia and a few more things I could name, I just want to tell you two things:

#1) YOU can do it... but only YOU can do it for YOU.

#2) Raw Heals the Body... YOU must choose to Heal the rest of You.... Raw helps. But it starts with your THOUGHTS. You are what you think you are, and the situation around you is what you think it is. Like attracts Like... if you're miserable, you'll attract misery. If you're happy, you'll attract happiness... I've tested both sides. Both sides work.

P.S. If you have NOT read Alissa Cohen's book LIVING ON LIVE FOOD, that needs to be the very next book you buy. Go get it TOMORROW MORNING... as soon as the book store or Library or Health Food store opens.

Very often, the Alissa Cohen book and the Louise Hay's book will be carried at your local health food stores and sometimes even a market like Wholefoods.
