Do you have Alissa's book and DVDs? Have you tried eating Raw for any amount of time?
Why, instead of taking this elderly lady out to Burger Barf, why not prepare something nutritious for her? First it's cheaper, second - waaaay healthier, and finally - Burger Barf? Come on!!! Make her a scrumptuous smoothie! Or a kicking dessert?

Maybe just explain to her that you are changing your lifesyle but you consider your time with her valuable so would she be ok with going someplace else, like a place with a salad bar??? Good luck, social situations are always hardest for me to navigate.
Blessings,
Heather

Thanks for the reponses
 MiahTay,
I do elder care for this lady she's 94 yrs young and she lives by herself, cooks her own meals and runs me ragged, wanting to go all the time.
She doesn't use a walker only a cane when walking, wants to go dancing and wants to date she only wants to be around people younger than her.
She is an inspiration to me in so many ways.
Now, i've gotten her to eat more fruit but with my hurried schedule i have eaten several veggie burgers but not too many, i'm still eating some what raw but i do slip on days that i'm in a hurry. When i'm at home or out by myself i don't seem to have a problem.
I do take fruit with me and nuts but when in that situation i get really hungry and i get jittery.
Thanks for your kind response, social situations can be difficult at times.

Just did some research on Burger King veggie burgers
They were vegan at one time but now have egg whites so no more for me.
Will just take more fruit with me.

This is the right time of the year for a picnic and a picnic is a good excuse to break the habit.

I love the ideas of doing a pick nick to creat a new routine.
Good for her to be 94 and sociolizing like this. She must be a lovely lady.
Perhaps, you can bring some snack with you that are raw or eat before going there. You can always order a plain salad.
Best wishes!

I'm sure the lady you take to burger king is wanting to get out more than anything else.....so just take her out somewhere else. I'm sure she'd love to know what your getting into and will support you. Good luck!

Oh, wow! You can eat raw and still have the BK Veggie? I used to eat this as a vegetarian and started getting sick after eating it, same with Taco Bell. If it's any motivation for ya, it's microwaved! You don't want to be eating Frankenfood!

It wasn't that often that i ate them.
It would be when doing a lot of running and being overly hungry and jittery when i would eat them.
I will now take more snacks with me, i've tried sharing raw with her but she won't eat much of it.
She use to play basketball when in school and was very active and it payed off
She gets around better than her 92 yr. old sister who rides around on one of the scooters.
Hungry makes you do crazy things.

My neighbor (now deceased from lung cancer) used to ask me to take her to McDonald's. I think she just wanted to get out of the house and couldn't afford lunch anywhere else. Then again, maybe she really wanted that food. Recently I was visiting my Grandma in the Adult Family Home she lives in and overheard another lady in her 90's talking about how much she wanted some McDonald's french fries.
My husband (not raw) hates McDonald's food, call it McDogfood, yet he stops there for lunch or dinner when he is hungry and in a hurry. Could it be addictive?
I can understand you getting jittery and hungry and reaching for something to counter that. I used to keep dried figs and cashews in my purse to get through those times. Now I keep a bottle of water and a packet of green food powder in my bag for emergencies. It doesn't taste that good, but after drinking it I feel strong enough to withstand anything.
Good for you taking care of the elderly. It is not an easy job.

Oh, thank you so much, i needed that.
It can be very difficut at times, i love being with her since her children live out of state and she has only sons.
I needed some love vibes and you gave them to me, thanks for your understanding and kindness.
All that showed love, thank you.

She's doing better than some here. I can't cast one stone at her. She 94, I hope she finds a Young Man and All the other Joys of Life she wants.
